Serving Fayette County Since 1984

WHO WE ARE:
The Fayette County is an ecumenical mission project of the First Presbyterian Church, 214 N. Hinde St., Washington C.H. OH., 43160.  The Pantry has been in operation since 1984 and serves families and individuals in Fayette County who are struggling financially by providing food assistance.  We are an ecumenical mission project and a 100% volunteer organization relying on Churches, Service Clubs, Businesses and individual donations for our funding.  One hundred percent of all donations are used for the purchase of food.

Recipients may receive food at the Pantry once a month.  They are required to show financial need by filling out the “Federal and State Eligibility to Take Food Home Form” based on income.   These forms are kept and updated each time a recipient comes to the pantry.  We are a choice pantry which allows families to choose what their family will use from a large variety of both fresh and canned food items.  The amount of food received is based on family size.

The first half of 2011 had a 51% increase in families using the pantry over the same period in 2010.  We served 1,870 families from January 2011 to June 2011.
